Wooden Nest is a small, family-run wooden home. These few rules keep it quiet, clean and safe for every guest — and for the house itself.
Check-in & check-out
- Check-in: any time up to 9:00 PM on your arrival day. Roads up to Pelling can be slow — if you're running late, call or WhatsApp us before 9 PM.
- Check-out: 9:30 AM, strictly. We turn rooms around for the next guests the same morning, so we can't offer late check-out.
ID at check-in
- Every adult guest must show a valid government photo ID at check-in — Aadhaar, passport, driving licence or voter ID.
- Foreign nationals must show their passport and a valid Indian visa. We're required by law to report foreign guests' stays to the authorities (Form C).
- Without valid ID for every adult, we may have to refuse check-in.
No smoking, drinking or eating indoors
- Smoking, drinking alcohol and eating are not allowed inside the rooms or the common room. The house is built entirely of wood — this is a fire-safety and cleanliness rule, not a suggestion.
- Meals are served in our dining area. Ask us where you can step outside to smoke.
Quiet hours
- Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Wooden walls carry sound, so please keep voices, music and phones low during these hours.
Pets
- Pets are welcome in our Master Rooms only, one pet per room, at ₹1,200 per night. Please tell us when you book.
- Pet food is available on-site at standard rates if you need it.
Rooms & occupancy
- Wooden Rooms sleep up to 3 guests; Master Rooms sleep 3–4 (counting adults and children aged 3+). Only guests named on the booking may stay overnight.
Looking after the house
- Please treat the house as you would a friend's home. Guests are responsible for any damage they cause to the rooms, furniture or fittings.
- We may ask guests who repeatedly break these rules to leave, without a refund.
